WANT TO
STAGE AN EVENT
IN DORSET?

The manager of an excellent holiday park in Dorset is looking for event organisers who would be interested in using the park's facilities for a rock'n'roll or jive event in December 2009 or certain dates next year.
Anyone seriously interested should contact Adam Burford on 01305 852911 or via adamburford@parkdeanholidays.com

KINGSWAY
RESURFACES
YET AGAIN

After an earlier cancellation of all gigs by the previous promoter, The Kingsway Arms in Luton has now been taken over by a committee of regulars. They plan to take each month as it comes, but say the more people that come, the more likly they'll be able to keep the Kingsway rockin ! It certainly has a long history of rock'n'roll, dating back over three decades.

JIVE JIVE JIVE
NOT ALIVE

The long running annual Jive Jive Jive has ground to a halt this year. Scheduled to take place in May 2009, the plug has just been pulled as the venue is apparently not going to be available at the time. Organiser, Kav Kavanagh, is desperately trying to warn everybody.

BETTER FREIGHT
THAN NEVER!

Gigs at the B52 Diner, Southend will cease after May as the venue is to be demolished for development. But the good news is that the Mad Rat events will continue just along the road at The Freight House, Bradley Way, Rochford, Essex SS4 1BU.
Changing from Saturday nights to Friday nights, first band there will be the Firebirds on Fri 12th '09.
Actually, the Freight House has the potential to be a better venue, despite the loss of the fabulous B52 decor. Their function rooms all have a really nice railway theme and look very smart.

RING
THE
CHANGES

Memphis Belles Rock'n'Roll Club moved to a new venue. No longer at Bisley, as from April the club will be at West Farnborough Social Club, 25 St Christophers Road, Farnborough, Hampshire GU14 0AH. The dates and bands are still the same

SUITE
LITTLE
ROCK'N'ROLLER

The Bewick Suite at The Swan, Maldon, Essex has been hosting a live music jam night every Wednesday for some years. Now alternate Wednesdays sees Rock'n'Roll night. The guest band does an opening set, the second set is open to all musicians and vocalists to get up and perform then the guest band closes the night.
This great evening has become hugely popular, drawing some very fine rock'n'roll bands to Maldon on what used to be considered a quiet night.
